Jessica M. Nickles, D.O.

Jessica M. Nickles, D.O. is an internal medicine physician practicing at East Alabama Internal Medicine. Originally from Dothan, Ala., Dr. Nickles earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Alabama before completing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy. She later earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) and completed her residency training at East Alabama Health.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Nickles worked as a hospital pharmacist for 10 years, including five years at East Alabama Medical Center. Her professional interests include patient-centered health care, general internal medicine, serving marginalized communities, and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Nickles was recognized with the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award in 2026. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Lyle, their children, Kate and Chace, and their three dogs. She also enjoys being outdoors, exercising and staying involved in her children’s activities.
