FEDlogic & Voya Hosting Retirement Seminars

FEDlogic and Voya will be jointly hosting seminars on investing, financial planning and preparing for retirement. These seminars are a wonderful opportunity to become more financially informed with discussions about investing, retirement accounts, and federal retirement benefits. The featured speakers are Jermain Boyd and Josh Laxon.

Jermaine Boyd is Vice President of Services with FEDlogic. Jermaine’s path from inner city school teacher to social worker to a specialist for the Social Security Administration-- led him to this role with FEDlogic. As a teacher, Jermaine quickly learned that teaching was only part of his passion. His desire to help those who were underserved and those with physical and mental disabilities grew and transformed. Jermaine spent 15 years working as a social worker with children and families who were in and out of the court system, in hospitals, in mental health communities, and overwhelmed by social service agencies. Which led him into a career with the government. When Jermaine became a specialist at the Social Security Administration, he was able to learn all the technical aspects of these federal and state program. Jermaine received the agency’s highest award, the Commissioner’s Citation, for his complex work in assisting families. With all of the information Jermaine had acquired, he wanted to find a way to apply his knowledge to help more people.

At FEDlogic Jermaine has the time to carefully and thoroughly educate and then advocate for individuals and families. Jermaine is a rare combination. While possessing a depth of knowledge, he is both crisply professional and deeply compassionate at the same time. Josh Laxson is an investment advisory representative with Voya Financial Advisors. His primary responsibility is to assist employees at East Alabama Health in simplifying financial planning by identifying their pre- and post-retirement needs and providing straightforward investment, insurance, and tax planning advice. Utilizing various technology sources, Josh offers a comprehensive planning and advice experience that is interactive and personalized. He is proficient in the technology provided to participants through Voya and the participant website. Josh has been a partner with East Alabama Health for 12 years and supports employees throughout their retirement journey including after they leave the hospital. Josh is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Josh holds a degree in finance from Auburn University and is certified as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor through the College for Financial Planning. He has extensive experience as a 3(21) fiduciary and is knowledgeable about fund lineups, investment selection reviews, and making recommendations to employers, plan sponsors and participants. Additionally, he holds the Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations. Furthermore, he is licensed to sell life insurance and annuities in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida. Josh also manages the CollegeCounts 529 college savings program designed to benefit children and grandchildren of East Alabama Medical Center employees.
