During a cookout for EMS Week in May, hospital officials surprised the first responders with the presentation of a plaque in recognition of their efforts following the tragic shootings in Dadeville on April 15. In providing mutual aid support to the community, EMS sent four ambulances, one command vehicle and nine EMTs to the scene and to the Lake Martin Community Hospital. Plus, a dispatcher was brought in to assist as EMS also maintained its full fleet of five staffed ambulances in Lee County. Sarah Nunnelly, chief operating officer for East Alabama Health, presented the plaque to Bill Dye, EMS supervisor, who coordinated the response by EMS that night.

Pictured in the top photo are the EMS employees who were called in the night of April 15 to respond to the Dadeville shooting.
