Another “School at Work” year has come to a close and the seven employees involved in the 2022-2023 class graduated during a ceremony at the Education Center June 13. Following remarks from President and CEO Laura Grill, the students were introduced by Kristy Bowen, SAW coordinator at EAMC-Lanier. Each student gave a graduation speech from the podium and was then presented their Saw at Work certificate by Susan Johnston, VP of Human Resources and Jenny Krug, SAW coordinator for EAMC.

The seven graduates this year were Chiquita Bryant (MCT on 7T), Cindy Darby (Secretary II in Education), Simone Dozier (Supply Clerk at EAMC-Lanier Material Services), Tyreshia Levett (OB Tech I in Labor & Delivery), China Parker (Medical Records Analyst I), Christi Shanks (Workforce Development Specialist), and Rhonda Smith (Instrument Tech II in Central Sterile Supply). Following the presentation of certificates, the annual Catalyst Award was announced and the winner was Christi Shanks. The Catalyst Award is earned by the student who most demonstrates engagement, leadership and teamwork, and who serves as the spark to keep the class motivated to excel.

SAW began at EAMC in 2005-2006, so this marked the program’s 18th completed year. A total of 208 employees are now SAW graduates. The program is changing names starting this fall and will be known as Pathways to Advancement (P2A).
