About this event

ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

This course is for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response

What does this course teach?

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of ACS and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

Participants are required to complete the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work lesson before attending class. Lesson can be accessed at https://elearning.heart.org

Bring your completion certificate to class. Students who arrive without completing all precourse work will not be allowed to stay for class.

Plan to arrive early so that you will have enough time to find parking and to get inside the Education Center to the classroom. Once class begins, late arrivals will not be permitted and will be asked to register for the next available class. No exceptions.
