Auxiliary Donates New Mattresses to EAMC-Lanier
October 3, 2023Valley, Ala.— Patients visiting the Emergency Department at EAMC-Lanier in Valley now have the comfort of being treated on new stretcher mattresses, courtesy of a donation by the hospital’s auxiliary volunteers.
Members of the EAMC-Lanier Auxiliary purchased and replaced eight mattresses in the 10-bed Emergency Department. The two unreplaced mattresses were not in need of replacement.
One new stretcher mattress cost $408, bringing the total cost to $3,926.58 after shipping fees. The donation was funded with proceeds from the gift shop at EAMC-Lanier, which is run by auxiliary volunteers and offers a range of unique gift items.
“Our EAMC-Lanier Auxiliary volunteers are simply amazing,” said Ashley Beck, Radiology manager at EAMC-Lanier. “They bring a positive influence when it comes to helping our community. Their dedication truly shines through kind actions like this donation, and we're deeply appreciative of their support.”
EAMC-Lanier Auxiliary is a group of close-knit volunteers who work together for the betterment of the hospital and the community-at-large. Community members interested in joining as a volunteer may call (334) 710-0357.
