For the second year in a row, the EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home in Valley has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Nursing Homes.

“Being named among the nation’s top nursing homes is a meaningful honor that speaks directly to the compassion, professionalism and hard work our team brings to resident care every day,” said Greg Nichols, administrator of EAMC-Lanier Rural Emergency Hospital and chief facilities officer at East Alabama Health. “Our priority is to ensure every resident experiences a sense of comfort, security and belonging from the moment they arrive.”

The America’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 ranking lists the nation’s leading nursing homes in the 25 states with the highest number of facilities according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The evaluation was based on performance data provided by CMS, peer recommendations, accreditation scores and resident satisfaction scores.

The EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home is a 103-bed facility dually certified to offer both skilled and intermediate nursing care. The nursing home offers both private and semi-private rooms, and is connected to EAMC-Lanier Rural Emergency Hospital which offers 24-hour emergency care.

The nursing home has an activities area and a fenced patio located on the first floor providing recreation areas for residents to enjoy each day.
