Valley, Ala.—In recognition of World Heart Day on Monday, Sept. 29, EAMC-Lanier Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) is hosting a free community event for members to learn more about living a healthy lifestyle. 

During the event, which will be held in the Lanier Main Lobby from 3 - 6 p.m. EST, hospital staff will provide community members with free blood pressure screenings, dietary health information, body mass index (BMI) assessments and demonstrations on easy, everyday workouts that can be done at home. Free raffles for prize drawings will also take place. 

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and speak directly with healthcare professionals about prevention and management of heart disease, the leading cause of death worldwide.
