EAMC Recognized with Four 2026 Awards from Healthgrades for Clinical Care
April 27, 2026
East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC) announced today that it has achieved numerous distinctions for exceptional clinical performance from Healthgrades.
Among EAMC’s new recognitions is the Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award, which recognized hospitals that deliver superior patient outcomes for outpatient orthopedic procedures. EAMC also achieved five-star ratings for three services, including total knee replacement, outpatient rotator cuff repair and valve surgery.
“The dedication our teams show to patients across our community is reflected in these recognitions,” said Laura Grill, president and CEO of East Alabama Health. “Delivering outstanding orthopedic and cardiology care takes skill, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety, and we’re proud to see that work recognized.
“We hope that these recognitions offer our patients comfort in knowing that receiving care at EAMC means being treated with excellence recognized on a national level.”
EAMC continues to be a leading facility for patients seeking orthopedic care. Orthopedic specialists at EAMC specialize in diagnosing and treating bone, joint, ligament, tendon, muscle and nerve disorders, conditions and injuries.
Along with the orthopedic recognitions from Healthgrades, EAMC also received a 2026 Women’s Choice Award for Orthopedics.
EAMC also provides advanced vascular care as noted by Healthgrades awarding of a five-star rating for valve surgery. EAMC offers patients convenient, local access to both minimally invasive procedures and surgical treatment options to help restore heart valve function.
In 2023, EAMC earned Transcatheter Valve Certification from the American College of Cardiology, a powerful designation that recognizes the facility’s expertise in treating patients receiving valve repair and replacement procedures.
“Healthgrades’ specialty awards identify the nation’s top-performing hospitals in key service areas, helping consumers find high quality care tailored to their specific needs,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize East Alabama Medical Center for its consistently superior outcomes in key service areas.”
