Aleiya Butler, M.D.
Aleiya Butler, M.D. recently joined the team at East Alabama Psychiatric Services. Dr. Butler earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, where she also completed her psychiatry residency. Dr. Butler also completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Butler’s interest in the medical field came from her love of science and learning about human behavior, and she was excited to be called to a career where she could use those interests to help others. Dr. Butler hopes to impact the lives of children by aiding in the healing process of their mental and emotional health.
Dr. Butler’s medical interests include community mental health involvement and advocacy, and collaborative and integrated care efforts between primary care and psychiatry. She also enjoys learning and using acceptance commitment and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy.
In her spare time, Dr. Butler enjoys watching movies, singing, listening to music, spending time with friends and family, reading, and being involved in her church community.
