Austin Luker, M.D.
Austin Luker, M.D. recently joined the team at East Alabama Psychiatric Services. Dr. Luker earned his medical degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also completed his general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
Dr. Luker has known he wanted to be a psychiatrist since he was a teenager, and has always had a love of learning other people’s stories and connecting with them. His medical interests include psychiatry across the lifespan, ADHD, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
Dr. Luker is originally from Ashland, Ala., and after living in Birmingham, Ala. for 13 years, moving to East Alabama felt like coming back home to him. Dr. Luker is looking forward to practicing psychiatry in the East Alabama community.
In his spare time, Dr. Luker enjoys running, DIY projects, playing the mandolin and guitar, writing, drawing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
