Mary Hyder, M.D.
Mary Hyder, M.D. recently joined the team at Anesthesia Associates of East Alabama. Dr. Hyder earned her medical degree from University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She completed her internship in preliminary surgery at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, and her residency in anesthesiology at The University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB), where she was awarded chief resident and outstanding resident.
Dr. Hyder chose a career in medicine after an injury ended her javelin career. She completed fellowships in cardiac anesthesiology and critical care at Washington University in St. Louis, and trauma anesthesiology at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Hyder was also the assistant professor of anesthesiology and attending anesthesiology at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for 18 years.
Her medical interests include trauma, resuscitation, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Dr. Hyder is practicing at Anesthesia Associates of East Alabama, 2000 Pepperell Parkway in Opelika. To contact Dr. Hyder’s office, call 334-528-2499.
