R. Logan Hammond, D.O.
R. Logan Hammond, D.O. recently joined the team at Valley Area Medical Pavilion as a family medicine physician. Dr. Hammond earned his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - Carolinas Campus, and completed his residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va.
Dr. Hammond's desire to practice medicine began at a young age when he went through a medical hardship. His own experience opened him up to the diverse world of medicine, and he felt he was called by God to practice family medicine specifically after seeing the opportunity for relationship, rapport and continuity of care with patients during his clinical rotations.
Dr. Hammond and his wife, Sarah, have been married for three years. Sarah is from Lanett, Ala., and Dr. Hammond and his family are excited to be living in the area near family. They have two young children, Jack and Samuel.
In his spare time, Dr. Hammond enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, attending church, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball and Alabama football.
