Zachary Smith, M.D.
Zachary M. Smith, D.O. recently joined the team at Emergency Medicine South, EAMC’s Emergency Department. Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his Family Medicine residency at Tuscaloosa Family Medicine in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Dr. Smith chose to practice medicine because he felt called by God, and because he wanted to provide for his family while making an impact in the community through service and education.
Dr. Smith is originally from Columbus, Ga. He and his wife, Chelsey, have been married for 13 years. They have three children, Roran, Charles and Rigsby. Dr. Smith and his wife are excited to be back on the Georgia-Alabama border to raise their family.
In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys playing music and doing anything outdoors. He was a youth pastor for five years before he went to medical school, and enjoys being involved in his church.
Dr. Smith is board certified in Family Medicine, and is practicing at Emergency Medicine South, 2000 Pepperell Parkway in Opelika.
