Joseph Marchant, NHA, has joined East Alabama Health as executive vice president and chief integration and network development officer.

“Joseph is a proven leader whose years of extensive experience in rural health care will further enhance our ability to serve our patients in east Alabama,” said Laura Grill, president and CEO of East Alabama Health. “His leadership will support our continued focus on coordinated care and long‑term sustainability for the communities we serve.”

In this new role, Marchant will strengthen East Alabama Health’s regional impact by overseeing clinical network development, identifying and leading outreach and growth initiatives. His work in this role will ensure seamless integration of services, operations and care delivery across the organization. 

“I am honored to join an organization that serves such a dynamic population,” said Marchant. “The east Alabama region is growing rapidly. We want to meet that growth head-on by expanding services and partnerships that will ensure access to care for our patients remains local, reliable and of the highest quality possible.”

Prior to joining East Alabama Health, Marchant served as chief executive officer of Bibb Medical Center in Centreville for 15 years. While at Bibb Medical Center, he led the 166-bed community hospital’s expansion of important services including skilled nursing, senior living, obstetrics, chronic care management and primary care. 

Marchant has also served on numerous boards including past chairman for the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA), the Bibb County Chamber of Commerce, the Bibb County Economic & Industrial Development Board, and the Healthcare Workers Compensation Fund. In addition, he was recognized in 2024 by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) with the National Rural Health Day Community Star Award.

Marchant earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Faulkner University and is a Licensed Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administrator by the Board of Examiners for the State of Alabama.
