AUBURN, Ala.—East Alabama Health has expanded its women’s health offerings by opening Urogynecology of East Alabama, a new clinic providing treatment for women with pelvic floor disorders. The clinic will be under the direction of David Williams, D.O., and is located at 890 N. Dean Rd., Suite #300 in Auburn. New patients are now being accepted.

“With the opening of Urogynecology of East Alabama, we are taking a significant step in expanding access to specialized women’s health services in our community,” said Laura Grill, president and CEO of East Alabama Health. “This clinic allows us to provide women in our community with the personalized care they deserve, without the long drive typically associated with specialized care.” Urogynecology is a medical specialty focused on treating disorders affecting the pelvic floor, which supports the organs located within the pelvis. Women who have experienced childbirth, menopause or have chronic conditions may develop pelvic floor disorders. Common examples include urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Urogynecology of East Alabama provides specialized treatment for conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse (fallen bladder, uterus or vagina), overactive bladder, stress urinary incontinence, and others. In addition, Dr. Williams also offers minimally invasive procedures to treat pelvic floor conditions while reducing recovery time.

“Urinary incontinence is a common medical condition affecting women, but should not be considered a normal part of aging. We have several minimally invasive treatment options to restore a woman’s continence, allowing her to return to an active lifestyle.”
