
Brittney Z. Heard, M.D.
Brittney Z. Heard, M.D. recently joined the team at Pinnacle Cardiovascular Associates and specializes in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Heard earned her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. She went on to obtain her medical degree from Meharry Medical College and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She completed her fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Virginia (UVA), where she was chosen as UVA Cardiovascular Disease Chief Fellow.
Dr. Heard chose to work in cardiac electrophysiology because of the fusion of medicine and engineering. Her medical interests include arrhythmias, pacemakers/defibrillators, and atrial fibrillation (AFib).
She and her husband, Grant A. Bond, M.D., a plastic surgeon at East Alabama Plastic Surgery, have one son, Beau. In her spare time, Dr. Heard enjoys doing yoga, walking, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Beginning in September, Dr. Heard will be practicing at Pinnacle Cardiovascular Associates, 2601 Village Professional Drive in Opelika.
