George Crawford

George Crawford lives on Lake Martin and followed his doctor to East Alabama Health to continue to receive treatment. However, his story with East Alabama Health dates back to when he was growing up in Opelika in the 1950s. Below is his experience:
An interesting thing about my affiliation with the area is that I grew up in Pepperell Mill Village, right across the street from the hospital. When I graduated from Auburn in 1963, I left the area and was gone for 37 years. Eventually, my wife and I decided we wanted to move back to this area.
My first time in this hospital was when I was in the 11th grade. I developed pneumonia, and I had to spend a lot of time in the hospital. I have been coming here for so long that when I come to East Alabama Medical Center, I feel like I am coming to my second home. I now have rheumatoid arthritis and I’m a patient at the Infusion Center at East Alabama Medical Center. I am especially thankful for Theresa, who is a nurse in the Infusion Center. I have been to the hospital numerous times for different things, and the staff is just unbelievably good and efficient.
Quite honestly there is no comparison to East Alabama Health. The hospital’s capabilities and services are incomparable to other hospitals around!
