Holiday Cheer at the Spencer Cancer Center

This December, the halls of the Spencer Cancer Center have been transformed into a winter wonderland thanks to the artwork of our own Nicole Thomas.

Nicole, an MCT who has worked at the Spencer Cancer Center since 2022, has created more than 15 paintings throughout the building that feature holiday classic character such as Charlie Brown, the Grinch, Santa Claus and more. Patients often compliment the artwork and say that it creates a friendly, comfortable environment for them as they navigate a difficult time. 

Using images on her phone as a guide, she freehand paints her creations without tracing or outlining beforehand. Each painting takes roughly three to four hours to complete, and Nicole often stays after hours to complete them. In addition to her Christmas paintings, she has also decorated for other occasions such as football season. Thank you, Nicole, for bringing joy and comfort to patients and staff alike.
