March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month
March 1, 2022Colon cancer is one of the most highly treatable types of cancer if caught in its early stages. Early stage symptoms of colon cancer include changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, unintended weight loss, and pain or cramping in the abdomen.
Screening for colon cancer should begin at age 45. There are several types of screening for colon cancer, including colonscopies, at home-screenings, and more. Talk to your primary care doctor about which screening option is best for you.
