COV Program - College Volunteers
The college volunteer program (COV) is designed to give students opportunity for career awareness in a healthcare setting as well as an opportunity to serve others within the community. Each college volunteer will list their top three service area choices, as service areas are chosen based on the availability.
Acceptance of applications will close on the 15th day of classes each semester. We follow Auburn University academic calendar. After this deadline, applications will be accepted but be processed for the next semester. We do accept volunteers for summer semester also.
Even if he or she has volunteered in the past, each college volunteer must meet certain requirements before beginning their volunteer service and must complete an orientation. The orientation is a one-hour session in which expectations are discussed, the volunteer handbook is introduced, and paperwork is completed.
