About Me

Eric R. Manahan, M.D., MBA, FASBrS, is a board-certified breast surgeon practicing at Spencer Cancer Center. Originally from Johnson City, Tennessee, Dr. Manahan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University before receiving his medical degree from East Tennessee State University. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University and completed his general surgery residency training at East Tennessee State University.

With more than 25 years of surgical experience, Dr. Manahan is a nationally recognized leader in breast surgery. He currently serves as president of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and previously served as chair of the Training Committee for both the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Manahan chose to join East Alabama Health and Spencer Cancer Center because of their shared commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. He is passionate about ensuring patients have access to comprehensive, advanced breast surgery services and looks forward to expanding access to high-quality breast care for individuals throughout the Auburn-Opelika region and surrounding communities.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Manahan enjoys supporting Auburn Athletics, playing golf, and running. He and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 32 years and have two daughters, Paige and Lindsay, both of whom are also Auburn University graduates.
