Kayla Powers, D.O.

Kayla Powers, D.O. is an internist practicing at Valley Area Primary Care. Originally from Jay, Fla., Dr. Powers attended Troy University for her undergraduate and went on to earn her medical degree from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine - Dothan. Dr. Powers completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of South Alabama Hospital in Mobile, Ala.

Dr. Powers has always known she wanted to pursue primary care in a rural area after growing up in a small farming community. Choosing internal medicine allows her to treat adult patients and help them manage their chronic medical conditions. Dr. Powers is also passionate about preventive health and helping patients live longer and happier lives.

Dr. Powers had the opportunity to complete one of her rotations at East Alabama Medical Center while she was in medical school, and she and her husband are happy to be back and living in the community. In her free time, Dr. Powers enjoys spending time with her husband and her friends, participating in any activities on the water or at the beach, and going to Auburn University sporting events.
