About Me
Tatyana Sklyar, M.D. is a hematologist and oncologist practicing at Spencer Cancer Center. Originally from Moscow, Russia, Dr. Sklyar earned her medical degree from Russian State Medical University, where she also completed her postgraduate training before continuing her medical education in the United States. She completed both her residency and fellowship training at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is board certified in hematology, oncology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Sklyar’s passion for oncology began after her grandmother was diagnosed with gastric cancer. Witnessing firsthand the impact cancer has on patients and their families inspired her to pursue cancer research during medical school and ultimately dedicate her career to cancer care. She is especially motivated by the rapid advancements transforming oncology, including immunotherapy, targeted treatments, and precision medicine.
She was drawn to Spencer Cancer Center by its commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing cancer. Dr. Sklyar is honored to serve the Auburn-Opelika community and values building lasting relationships with patients while guiding them through every step of their cancer journey with compassion and expertise.
Outside of work, Dr. Sklyar enjoys hiking, traveling, and playing golf. She and her husband, Sergey, have been married for 37 years and have two sons.
