High-Quality Care Earns EAMC Multiple 2026 Women’s Choice Awards

OPELIKA, Ala.—East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC) has been recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals by Women’s Choice Award® for Patient Experience, Orthopedics, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Cancer Care and Breast Imaging.

The Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospitals™ is a trusted referral source and a prestigious credential that identifies the nation’s top hospitals based on rigorous criteria, including clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and relevant accreditations. Hospitals recognized with Women's Choice awards demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and prioritizing the health and well-being of their patients.
Here is a look at each award and its criteria:
America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience
To earn recognition as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience, EAMC was evaluated on key HCAHPS survey data, including provider communication, responsiveness, and overall patient recommendations.
The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) is a standardized survey used to measure patients’ perspectives on hospital care.
EAMC is one of only six (6) hospitals in Alabama to be recognized with a 2026 Women’s Choice Award for Patient Experience.
America’s Best Hospitals for Orthopedics
By offering comprehensive orthopedic services, including arthroscopic procedures, spine surgeries, joint replacement and other orthopedic surgeries, as well as on-site physical therapy and MRI imaging, EAMC earned designation as a Best Hospitals for Orthopedics.
EAMC ranks in the top eight (8) percent of hospitals nationwide for orthopedics.
America’s Best Hospitals for Minimally Invasive Surgery
To be recognized with the Best Hospitals for Minimally Invasive Surgery award, EAMC had to meet the highest standards for surgical safety and quality of care, have a low rate of surgical infections and complications, and be accredited for robotic surgeries.
EAMC ranks in the top two (2) percent of hospitals nationwide for minimally invasive surgery and is also accredited as a Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence by the Surgical Review Corporation.
America’s Best Hospitals for Cancer Care
To earn recognition as a Best Hospital for Cancer Care, EAMC is required to meet rigorous standards set by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, achieve high clinical performance for oncologic care and earn high patient recommendation ratings. The oncology team at EAMC includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and a gynecologic oncologist and hematologists.
EAMC is recognized for ranking in the top seven (7) percent of hospitals for cancer care nationwide.
America’s Best Hospitals for Breast Imaging
Patients throughout the region choose EAMC for mammography services, earning it a 2026 Women's Choice Award for Breast Imaging.
The Breast Health Center in Auburn is the region's only dedicated breast imaging center. Its all-female team offer patients convenient access to mammography, breast ultrasound and other breast imaging services.
