About Me
Michael Castro, M.D., MSc is a board-certified pathologist practicing at the Surgical Clinic. Originally from Union City, N.J., Dr. Castro earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine and a Master of Science in Biomedical Research. He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency followed by fellowships in hematopathology and cytopathology at VCU Health. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematopathology.
Dr. Castro chose a career in pathology to advance patient care through accurate diagnoses and high-quality laboratory medicine, helping guide treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes. Outside of work, Dr. Castro enjoys weightlifting and playing video games.
