Brandon Johnson, M.D.

Brandon Johnson, M.D. | Institutional Review Board Chair

With extensive training and experience in Internal Medicine, including a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Johnson brings a wealth of expertise to his practice. He is deeply committed to advancing medical knowledge and has contributed significantly to research in cancer treatment and prevention.

Dr. Johnson has numerous publications in esteemed journals. Beyond his clinical work, he is actively involved in medical education, serving as an assistant professor at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and as an adjunct professor at Auburn University. He is also dedicated to community service, holding various leadership roles in healthcare organizations.

Stefanie Ledbetter

Stefanie Ledbetter, BSN, MSHI | Clinical Research Director

Stefanie Ledbetter serves as Director of East Alabama Health's Office of Clinical Research and Quality at East Alabama Health. She earned her Bachelor of Science in both Biomedical Science and Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and also received her Master of Science in Health Informatics from the University of South Florida.

Ledbetter has been with the organization for more than 25 years serving in quality management and research capacities. In addition, Ledbetter has also served as an adjunct professor for Auburn University's Health Administration Program.

Abigail Winn

Abigail Winn, RN, BSN | Clinical Research Manager

Abigail Winn serves as Manager of East Alabama Health’s Office of Clinical Research. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UAB. Prior to moving to Auburn, Abigail worked as a Critical Care nurse at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama. Abigail has been with East Alabama Health for 10 years serving in perioperative management and research capacities.

LaKeitha Seroyer

LaKeitha Seroyer, MPH | Clinical Research Coordinator

LaKeitha Seroyer serves as Clinical Research Coordinator at East Alabama Health. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). LaKeitha received training and experience through UAB’s Division of Preventive Medicine and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB, where she served as Clinical Research Coordinator for various, complex clinical research trials.

Dotan Shvorin

Dotan Shvorin, Ph.D., Ed.D. | Program Director for Research and Development

Dr. Dotan Shvorin, Ph.D., Ed.D., is a research scholar with distinctive professional and personal experience. Shvorin serves as a Program Director for Research and Development in the Office of Clinical Research (OCR). Working with OCR and EAH Leadership to facilitate internal and external relationships and form collaborations to enrich productive and effective applications to improve patient care.

Dr. Shvorin brings extensive healthcare leadership and research expertise from PRISMA Health of the Upstate and Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center (SAMHC), specializing in organizational structure, research program development, and project management. With academic foundations in Engineering, Education, and Healthcare, he also teaches voluntary leadership workshops at Auburn University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. His work includes impactful initiatives such as:

  • Diabetes Patient Profiling in the Emergency Department: Proof of Concept Research
  • Improved Patient Care in the Operating Room
  • A Data-Driven Policy to Minimize Tuberculosis Testing Costs Among Healthcare Workers

Dr. Shvorin brings extensive teaching, research, and programming experience from Clemson and Converse Universities, with doctoral work spanning performance improvement through bio-sensing technology and leadership development in healthcare. His record of publications, grant acquisition, and research education will support EAH by strengthening academic partnerships, advancing innovative research initiatives, and mentoring future investigators.

Dr. Shvorin’s military service and work with Elbit Systems provide expertise in innovation, product development, experimental design, supply chain management, and quality control. He also holds certifications in Lean and Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
