Transportation options are available for employees and patients who may need assistance getting to or from East Alabama Medical Center. Below is information about Lee-Russell Public Transit (LRPT) and how to schedule a free ride.

- Available to residents of Auburn, Opelika, Lee County, and Russell County
- Open to the general public
- No medical authorization required
Service Details
- Curb-to-curb transportation
- Drivers may assist passengers from the curb into the vehicle
- Riders should mention any special needs when scheduling
- Please note that drivers cannot enter homes, garages, or buildings
Scheduling a Ride
- Call 334-749-9092
- Scheduling hours: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Trips must be scheduled at least 1 business day in advance
- Reservations can be made up to 2 weeks before the ride is needed
- All rides are subject to availability
Pickup Window
- The bus may arrive up to 15 minutes before or after the scheduled pickup time
- Riders should be ready when the bus arrives
Driver Wait Time
- Drivers will wait up to 5 minutes past the scheduled arrival time
- After 5 minutes, riders are considered no-shows
Holiday Closures
- New Year’s Day; MLK Day; Presidents’ Day; Memorial Day; Juneteenth; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veterans Day ; Thanksgiving Day & the Friday after; Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
- Additional closures may be announced.
On-Demand Rideshare Services
Rideshare options such as Uber and Lyft are also available for patients and employees who need transportation. Please note that rides through these services are arranged individually and associated costs are the responsibility of the rider.
