Scholarship Loan Program
East Alabama Health is committed to supporting employees who are pursuing careers aligned with our most urgent workforce needs. Through partnerships with local community colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs, and clinical training partners, we help team members advance into high-demand healthcare roles. Additional schools may be approved by the Scholarship Committee, with priority given to local programs followed by in-state institutions outside our region.
Program Expectations
Participants must:
- Be in good standing and maintain professional conduct as both students and employees.
- Sign a scholarship agreement outlining a required work-off period after graduation.
- Work-off commitment: 1 year of full-time employment for every $6,000 of scholarship support.
- The work-off role must align with the graduate’s program of study.
- Agree to work at least 24 hours per month at EAH after completing their first semester.
Selection Process
- Scholarship recipients are chosen twice per year—once for the fall semester and once for the spring/summer semester.
- Each selection cycle includes a review of projected staffing needs by Labor Management and Human Resources.
- Candidates are selected based on their ability to help fill high-need clinical and non-clinical roles, ensuring the program strengthens the long-term workforce of EAH.
