Pathways to Advancement (P2A)
The Pathways to Advancement (P2A, formerly known as School At Work or SAW) program is a 10-month, on-site learning experience designed for employees who want to strengthen foundational education and technology skills as they prepare for a workforce development program or transition into a high-need role within East Alabama Health.
In partnership with Catalyst Learning, this program helps employees build confidence, gain essential skills, and take the next step toward long-term career growth.
Program Curriculum
- Communication in the workplace
- Patient safety/satisfaction
- Medical terminology
- Reading, grammar, and writing
- Computer and technology skills
- Math fundamentals
- Critical thinking and professional skills
About the Program
- Two hours of paid class time each week
- A rigorous career care module that guides participants toward EAH workforce development pathways and high-need specialties
- Annual class size of 15–20 students
- Graduates receive two free classes at Southern Union State Community College
Eligibility Requirements
Employees are eligible to apply if they:
- Have been with EAH for at least nine months
- Are in good standing
- Are committed to advancing their education and career
